Academic Activities at Punjab University Suspended for a Week
In response to the severe weather and flooding affecting the country, Punjab University has announced that it will be pausing all academic activities for the first week of September. This period, which the university is calling a “Zero Week,” is a measure to prioritize the safety of all students, teachers, and staff.
A recent notice from the university registrar confirms that from September 1 to 7, classes will not be held. However, it’s not a complete shutdown. During this time, university departments will still be busy with administrative tasks. They’ll be handling admissions, hosting orientation sessions for new students, and managing hostel allocations. Faculty and other staff will also be on campus for meet-and-greet events to welcome students back.
The university has confirmed that the academic calendar remains on track, with regular classes and examinations set to begin on September 8, 2025. If needed, the university will schedule additional classes online or on Saturdays to make up for any missed coursework.
