Cambridge AS and A-Level Results Released in Pakistan Amid Paper Leak Controversy

Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) has officially released the AS and A-Level results for the May–June 2025 examination session in Pakistan. This comes amidst ongoing controversy surrounding alleged paper leaks that caused a great deal of anxiety for students.

Uzma Yousuf, the CAIE country director, offered her congratulations to all the students, acknowledging their “hard work, dedication, and remarkable resilience” in the face of what she called “uncertainty” caused by the leaks and regional tensions.

In response to the scandal, CAIE has confirmed that it’s launched a formal investigation in collaboration with the Pakistani government. To help the students who were impacted, the organization has offered a free resit option for the affected papers in the upcoming November 2025 exam series. This offer is available to anyone who took one or more of the three compromised papers.

This year’s exam series saw a massive turnout, with over 100,000 students from more than 700 schools in Pakistan taking Cambridge International AS and A-Level and Cambridge IGCSE and O-Level exams. Specifically, Cambridge received over 127,900 entries for its International AS and A-Level qualifications from Pakistan alone.

The three papers that were found to have been partially compromised were AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 12, AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 42, and AS & A Level Computer Science Paper 22. CAIE previously confirmed that while entire papers weren’t leaked, certain questions or parts of questions were made available to some students before the exams. The organization has taken action to ensure that no one who saw the leaked material gained an unfair advantage.
