Don’t Believe the Fake News! Punjab Schools Deny Extending Summer Break Until August 31?

The Punjab School Education Department has officially put an end to rumors circulating online about an extended summer vacation. A forged notification, which claimed that all public and private schools in Punjab would stay closed until August 31, 2025, has been confirmed as completely fake.

The phony document, which appeared on various social media platforms, suggested that the closure was due to extreme weather conditions. However, the Education Department was quick to respond, branding the notification as “FAKE” and advising the public to stop sharing unverified information. The department used its official Facebook page to clarify the situation, posting the fake notification with a bold “FAKE” watermark clearly stamped across it, and confirming that no such decision had been made.

Despite this clarification, there’s still confusion about the actual reopening date for schools. The summer break is winding down, but a final decision on whether students will return to class on August 15 has not yet been announced.

According to a report from a private news channel, which cited sources within the department, officials are currently considering a proposal to extend the break until the end of August because of continuing weather-related concerns. The Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, confirmed that discussions are still ongoing and that a final decision will be shared with the public very soon.
