Fuel Price SHOCKER! Will Government Finally Grant Relief After Massive Hikes?
Glimmer of Hope for Drivers: Fuel Prices Might Dip After Recent Surges
Islamabad: There’s a ray of hope for Pakistani consumers as the federal government seems to have some room to lower the prices of petrol and diesel. This insight comes from Arif Habib Limited (AHL), a well-known financial brokerage firm, following a series of significant price jumps over the last couple of months.
According to AHL’s analysis, the government could potentially reduce petrol prices by about Rs. 6.82 per liter and high-speed diesel prices by roughly Rs. 1.68 per liter. This possible reduction could happen during the next two-week review of fuel prices.
If these estimated cuts indeed go through, the cost of petrol would drop to around Rs. 265.33 per liter, while diesel could come down to about Rs. 282.67 per liter. Currently, petrol stands at Rs. 272.15 per liter, and high-speed diesel is priced at Rs. 284.35 per liter.
It’s worth remembering that petrol and diesel were much cheaper on June 1st, at Rs. 253.63 and Rs. 254.64 per liter, respectively. Since then, we’ve seen several increases, pushing the price of petrol up by a significant Rs. 18.52 per liter compared to where it was just a few weeks ago.
