Lahore High Court Announces Holiday for Religious Observance
All Judicial Work Paused for Eid Milad-un-Nabi
On September 6th, the entire judicial system in Punjab, including the Lahore High Court (LHC) and all subordinate courts, will be closed for a public holiday in honor of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. This decision is part of the annual holiday schedule published by the LHC, which ensures that important religious dates are observed by the legal community.
A formal notification has been circulated to all district and sessions courts, as well as their associated offices, confirming the closure. The Lahore High Court Bar Association has also reached out to lawyers, advising them to make necessary arrangements for their cases to prevent any last-minute issues.
According to representatives from the Bar Association, the holiday is intended to allow everyone—from lawyers to court staff and the general public—to participate in the day’s religious and cultural activities without disruption. Legal professionals have pointed out that this holiday is a regular feature of the court’s calendar, highlighting the importance of respecting national and religious occasions within the legal system.
