NAB Confirms Auction of Key Bahria Town Properties

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has dropped a bombshell, announcing a major auction of several high-value assets connected to business magnate Malik Riaz. The event, scheduled for August 7, 2025, is set to take place at the NAB office in Rawalpindi. This dramatic move comes after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave the green light for the sale of properties under the Bahria Town banner.

The auction list features a collection of prime commercial and recreational sites in Bahria Town Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The properties on the block include:

  • The Bahria Town Corporate Office II on Park Road, Phase II, Rawalpindi.
  • The original Bahria Town Corporate Office, also in Phase II, Rawalpindi.
  • A “Rubbish Market & Lawn” near the Bahria Garden City Golf Course in Islamabad.
  • The Arena Cinema located in Phase IV, Rawalpindi.
  • The Bahria Town International Academy situated on Jasmine Street in Rawalpindi.
  • The Safari Club, Plot No. 27, in Safari Villas, Rawalpindi.

These assets were attached as part of a recent plea bargain related to the high-profile £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case. The decision to sell them off is a significant step in the ongoing legal proceedings, aiming to recover the agreed-upon amount. This action is not just a financial move; it’s a powerful statement in a case that has captured national attention and scrutiny.

This development is likely to have major ripple effects across the real estate sector and the wider business community. It also signals a new, aggressive approach by NAB in its pursuit of accountability.
