Pakistan Floods NADRA Shuts Down Offices for Public Safety
Due to severe rain and ongoing flooding in Punjab, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has temporarily closed a number of its service centers. The agency stated that this action was taken to protect both the public and its employees during the emergency.
The affected locations are Vanike Tarar, Hafizabad, Jalalpur Bhattian (Hafizabad), 18 Hazari (Jhang), Ahmad Nagar (Chiniot), Midh Ranjha (Sargodha), Kari Sharif (Gujrat), Kotli Loharan (Sialkot), Syedpur (Sialkot), Khidmat Markaz (Sialkot), and Depalpur (Okara). These centers will not reopen until the situation improves and it’s safe to do so.
To make sure people can still get their work done, NADRA is advising residents in these areas to visit nearby centers that are still operating. They’ve also sent out mobile registration vans to neighboring districts to help handle the extra visitors.
Mobile Services for Pakistanis Abroad
In other news, NADRA is launching a mobile registration service in the United Kingdom on August 30, 2025. This initiative is designed to provide essential services to Pakistani citizens living overseas.
The schedule for the service is as follows: it will be available in Blackburn (Manchester) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and in Sheffield (Bradford) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The teams will be able to help with renewing Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), issuing National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs), and providing Family Registration Certificates (FRCs). Those who need these services are asked to bring their old CNICs or B-Forms with them to make the process as quick as possible.
