Pakistan’s T20I Campaign Begins with a Loss: What Went Wrong in Dublin?
Ireland’s women’s cricket team has secured a surprising victory, defeating Pakistan by 11 runs in the first T20 International held in Dublin. This win gives Ireland a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
The Irish side, batting first, put up a challenging total of 142 runs before being all out in 19.4 overs. The star bowler for Pakistan was captain Fatima Sana, who had a fantastic performance, taking four key wickets to restrict the home team’s scoring.
However, Pakistan’s chase fell short. The visiting team could only manage to score 131 runs, losing 9 wickets in their full 20 overs. Despite a valiant effort, particularly from Natalia Pervez, who was the top scorer for Pakistan with 29 runs, the team couldn’t reach the target.
This defeat puts the pressure on Pakistan to bounce back in the upcoming matches to keep the series alive.
