PTA Announces Latest Update on Network Restoration Amid Flood Damages

PTA Update: Free On-Net Calls Activated for Everyone in Flood-Affected Regions.

If you’re in one of the areas hit by the devastating floods, there’s an important update from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the country’s mobile network companies.

To help people stay connected during this crisis, mobile operators are now providing free calls to other numbers on the same network. The best part is, this works even if you have zero balance on your phone. This initiative is designed to ensure everyone can reach their family, friends, or emergency services without worrying about credit.

On the repair front, there’s been some solid progress. Field crews have been working around the clock and have successfully managed to get over 72% of the damaged cell towers and network sites back up and running.

The PTA has confirmed they are working closely with the mobile operators to get the remaining sites fixed as quickly as possible. They acknowledged the hard work of the technical teams who are on the ground providing this essential service.

The authorities have promised to keep a close eye on the situation and will continue to share updates. For now, the main focus is on reconnecting everyone and providing a lifeline through these free calls.
